FORMER SECRETARY AND PRESIDENT, RESERVE BANK EMPLOYEES' ASSOCIATION, PATNA

May flower was a ship that took the settlers known as the Pilgrim Fathers from Plymouth (England) to America in 1620. The puritans there chalked out a program of reconstruction and development of the new world that culminated into formation of a nation, the USA, the most developed country of the world. May Flower School at Patna was born on 28 June 1983 at a small building at Doctors’ Colony, Kankarbagh, Patna. Then the school was fully dedicated in preparing students for admission to the various educational institutions of national repute such as RIMC, Netarhat, Sainik Schools, Military Schools etc. Persistent demands of the parents and students for imparting education in the school itself, we decided to search a new place and got it at Digha in Patna. This was an area where the urban met the rural and the school was shifted there in the year 1993. In the year 1995, we decided to convert the school in a full -fledged secondary school on the pattern of CBSE schools. This was a gigantic task and needed much more time. To achieve the goal, I resigned my services from the Reserve Bank of India in the year 1995, six years ahead of normal retirement in 2001.In 1997, the school was handed over to a registered public trust “AKSHAY DEEP SANSTHAN” that has since been running and managing the school. The Trust decided to get the school affiliated to the CBSE. Many ridiculed us for such an audacious aspiration. But we soon vindicated ourselves and proved our critics wrong. We got the much coveted CBSE affiliation in 1999. Further CBSE was pleased to upgrade our affiliation up to + 2 level in 2002. This opened out new horizon for May Flower School. Besides acquiring academic excellence, our students venture forth in a maze of activities: athletics, games, debates, elocutions, arts, paintings, quizzes. It is through our students and dedicated teachers that our school has acquired a place among the distinguished schools of Patna. The school celebrated its Silver Jubilee function on 18 May 2008 in S. K. Memorial Hall, Patna in the full packed hall. Mr. Prem Kumar, Minister,RCD, Govt. of Bihar inaugurated the function. Dr Jagdish Sharma, MLA , who had inaugurated the school in the year 1983, presided over the functioned that continued till 10pm. Dr Anil Kumar, Minister, Information Technology, Mr. Ram Kripal Yadav M.P., Mr.Janardhan Singh Sigriwal ,former Minister, Prof. Ramanuj Prasad, MLA, Mrs.Asha Devi, M.L.A. were distinguished guests.
